Publish an update

Use this guide for an application whose first deployment and integration already work. You need the reviewed code revision, its pipeline, the target cluster/application and any accompanying configuration changes.

Live applicationExisting release workflow
  1. Use Check and improve a feature to review the change. Save it in Git and identify the exact commit/release. Ask the agent whether it changes stored data, configuration or external-provider behavior, and which earlier version can safely run afterwards.

Review the workflow trigger. A push publishes only when that branch/event is configured to deploy. If the workflow is manual, select the intended revision and destination explicitly. Prefer an immutable image reference so retries use the same artifact.

  2. Run the agreed release workflow. Follow build/tests, image publication and deployment as separate stages. If one fails, use Investigate a failed deployment before retrying side effects.

In the dashboard, open Applications → your app. Compare its version with the expected artifact, inspect Tasks and check History for the change. Wait for the workload to become ready rather than equating a successful request with a completed rollout.

Open the live address and repeat the changed flow, including sign-in and the relevant integration. Check recent monitoring for errors associated with that action. Record the version and outcome so a later investigation can identify when behavior changed.

    Release checked

The expected version is running and the changed flow works at the live address.

Establish which version is actually serving traffic. Decide whether to fix forward, restore configuration or redeploy a compatible earlier image. Recover a version or data explains the distinction. Releasing older code does not reverse data changes, payments or messages already sent.
