Identity and access

Sign-in establishes an identity. Authorization decides what that identity may do. Fluxzero supplies mechanisms for both, while your application defines its product-specific rules.

App user

Acts inside your product. A visitor can view their own reservation.

Cloud teammate

Manages the Fluxzero environment within the scope you grant.

Integration

Lets a matching automation workflow deploy to its authorized destination.

A local demo user belongs to a development profile. It lets you try a role, such as an organizer, before configuring real sign-in.

A product role is not an infrastructure role

Section titled “A product role is not an infrastructure role”

Giving someone dashboard access does not define their permissions inside your app. An organizer in Ticketing can manage events because the application gives that identity those capabilities; it is not a consequence of being a Fluxzero organization owner.

Likewise, a GitHub integration should receive the permissions needed for publishing/deployment. It is not a replacement for user sign-in. Its repository, workflow or environment restrictions determine which external identities can use it.

For each rule, check the allowed identity, another identity and an unauthenticated request where relevant. A local demo username is a development convenience; live identity needs its own provider/client configuration and registered URLs.

Use Manage users and access for a task-oriented checklist and GitHub Actions for deployment authentication. Developers can continue with Role-based access control.
